Our church held their second annual Germafest this weekend. I was so happy that they booked the German American Society Heimat Tanzers including the youth dancing group of which our family makes up half. This meant the kiddos would get to dance to a familiar crowd.

Yea though it be a Herculean feat to walk through the valley of getting ready for and getting through church every Sunday morning, God is with me. It can be hard, very hard some weeks, but it is worth the work, no, vital to continue in the work.
Yes, I blow it 5 or 6 times every Sunday and find it difficult to not just throw in the towel. Sometimes I have said to myself, “Well there’s no point in going now, you don’t deserve to even darken the door!” and “Well! If they want to make it this hard to go we’ll just stay home!”

Of Hearth and Home – The Sundays Part I

For some it’s a bad “Case of the Mondays” they come down with. For this pastor’s wife with a bunch of kids, it’s a case of the Sundays I get. The Sundays start on Saturday. It used to be Saturdays were the time of the sighing, the dreading, the prepping, the praying “Lord please help me get through tomorrow morning!” Thankfully Sundays are getting better.
