The Last Sunday of the Church Year

Last Sunday was the final Sunday of the church year. For this day we hear about Christ’s second coming. Some also refer to the day as Christ the King Sunday or the Feast of Christ the King. I had considered make a crown cake of some kind, but the big girls had been asking for more pumpkin chocolate chip muffins. I decided a pumpkin chocolate chip bundt cake looked almost like a crown so it was a win win.

St. Elizabeth of Hungary – Nov. 19

November 19th we remember St. Elizabeth of Hungary and yes the kids had to snicker at “hungary.” We focus on her generosity as a Christian princess and how she was an example of loving our neighbor.

I like to make cinnamon rolls or bread for her day, also some variation of Hungarian Goulash in the form my kids will eat or at least try.

St. Martin’s day again! This year I had some help making one of my favoritest cookies in the world. We only eat these for St. Martin’s day so I get pretty excited about them. Also, I can’t believe how big my big kids are getting!

For All The Saints – November 1

All Saints Day. We remember our baby and wait for the Resurrection.

“But, lo, there breaks a yet more glorious day; The saints triumphant rise in bright array; The King of Glory passes on His way. Alleluia! Alleluia!”
