May 24: Yes we did it again. Yes it rained…a lot. But we’re starting to enjoy this camping we’ve heard so much about and we know we’ve gotta be prepared for our big trip to the Blackhills in a couple weeks. So we headed out to Louisville.

In The Camper – Hitchcock Nature Center

April 25: Well we’re at it again! I was rolling my eyes out of my head this morning when it started to rain thinking, of course it’s gonna rain the day we go camping. But the sun came out and the wind…well, hopefully it will die down tonight. The kids are still going to school but will join us after. In the meantime we’re setting up camp and ready to get better at this whole camper thing!

In The Camper

Our first trip of the season in the camper came in April. The kids had a couple days off from school so we hit the road and headed for Mahoney State Park. Of course it would have to be cold, wet and windy but we’re getting better at that kind of camping after the Fall we had. We stayed inside and enjoyed a few of the local indoor activities around our site. I still have a lot to learn about camper cooking but I consider this meal a success even with some burnt cookies for dessert.
