May 24: Yes we did it again. Yes it rained…a lot. But we’re starting to enjoy this camping we’ve heard so much about and we know we’ve gotta be prepared for our big trip to the Blackhills in a couple weeks. So we headed out to Louisville.
We learn something new every time we go camping. This time, don’t choose a camping spot with low terrain if you know rain is in the forecast. You might get a backyard pool installed overnight.
Also, never, whatever you do, never choose a site right next to the train tracks. It might sounds really cool and so adventurous. It’s not. Don’t do it.
We did get a peek at a Goose Daycare though. That was nice.
Day 2 the sun did come out and it was lovely. We did our picnic thing and the kids did their pretend to fish thing.
We’re getting better at this camping gig. We now know how nice it can be to actually go camping when you can go outside the camper instead of hunker down, all 11 of you, inside, safe from the freezing rain which is all the camping we’ve known since we started this adventure. In either case I remind myself how blessed we are. It gets tight up in here, it gets noisy, messy, smelly and did I say tight? But we’re together and making what I hope are mostly happy memories.
