Martin is Baptized

May 7: We brought Martin to the font on a Thursday evening in a small service with a few families present. We thank Christ our Lord for the gift of new life and salvation he has received.

“We were therefore buried with him through baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life. For if we have been united with him in a death like his, we will certainly also be united with him in a resurrection like his.” Roman 6

Celebrating Abel’s Baptism

Another Hale boy in the “boy baptismal gown.” Mercy was very concerned that he would be wearing a gown. I assured her this was one time in a boys life that it would be appropriate.

Abel Baptized – February 3

For months I prayed to see this day, the day we would be able to bring our baby to the waters of Holy Baptism. Like Simeon I praise God for we have seen His salvation. Today Abel was bound and knit together in Christ’s death and Resurrection.

God has done this and it is marvelous in our eyes.

The Nativity of John the Baptist – June 24th

For the Nativity of St. John the Baptist, June 24th, we had a “Baptism Party” to celebrate the gift of Holy Baptism.  I think this might be the beginning of a new tradition at our house.
