Happy St. Patrick’s Day!

Thursday, March 17th, 2011

All week I’ve been telling the girls about St. Patrick, who he was, how he loved Jesus and the Irish people. We did some coloring and crafts earlier in the week. And I had a lot of grand plans for today. Green pancakes or yummy chocolate chip scones were going to be served for breakfast. Then rainbow cupcakes for snack time. None of it happened.

I’ve kind of been in a fog this week for some reason and just haven’t been able to get it together. Even our catechumen in their confirmation class noticed I failed them when they asked where their St. Patrick’s Day cupcakes from Aubri were. We did however manage to go with Phil to “town” and spend some time at the library then to our favorite family eatery and we all (well, not Phil of course) wore “the green”. So it was indeed a happy St. Patrick’s Day, even without those scones for which the ingredients are sitting on my kitchen counter as I type this.

Happy Valentine’s Day!

We are enjoying the most beautiful day. It’s a wonderful 43 degrees and sunny. A day to really warm your heart. A day you want to LOVE everybody! We’ve eaten a ton of chocolate, opened some sweet Valentine’s from Grandma and took a walk to the post office. I wanted to share some of our Valentine’s Day decorations with you all. I thought I’d have posted these pictures last week but getting time to blog doesn’t come easily anymore.

Treats

Saturday, February 5th, 2011

I made these Valentine’s Day treats for a ladies meeting I went to this week. I thought they were so cute and were definitely very yummy!

These were so easy to make too. They took a little longer than I thought they would especially while trying to keep little hands away from the sprinkles and candies. If you have bigger kiddos though, these would be a lot of fun to make together! For the recipes I used look here and here.

On the tenth Day of Christmas my trueloves made for me, a gingerbread house! I spent Monday morning making the pieces and after nap time Phil and the girls had fun decorating.
