May 11: What a treat to tour the Museum of Replica Art yesterday at the kids’ school. Gerhardt’s medieval long sword was on display along with the Mona Lisa, a piece by William Blake, a sarcophagus and several other ancient wonders. Phil after seeing the Rosetta Stone…”I thought it was bigger.”
May 9: I’m all for any day that upholds the office of motherhood, a godly calling our culture values very little. As Phyllis McGinley states “God knows that a mother needs fortitude and courage and tolerance and flexibility and patience and firmness and nearly every other brave aspect of the human soul.”
In Christian motherhood we make a confession in our very bodies as we birth children into the world or adopt children and care for them everyday, loving and praying for them for the rest of our lives. In this life of childbearing I hold to something outside of myself, to God’s goodness, His merciful forgiveness and His faithfulness to His children. I am incredibly blessed. Happy Mother’s Day.

May 7: A Happy Bee-day party for our sweet boy. Since his middle name is Ambrose I couldn’t resist a little homage to his name sake, the patron saint of bee keepers, for his party theme. 🐝
