Our sweet little guy isn’t doing so well. We don’t know yet what the problem is, but he isn’t gaining weight and is starting to show signs of dehydration. We’ve changed his formula and if he hasn’t shown any improvement he may be admitted to the hospital for observation and fluids. Please pray for him, his improvement and some answers as to what may be going on.
*Update: We’ve decided to give Ephraim a few more days before we put him in the hospital. His vitals are strong and he is eating well. He’ll be reevaluated on Friday unless something changes before then.
To keep my mind off of this for a moment I wanted to also share pictures from our weekend and joyfully announce that Ephraim received life and salvation in the waters of Baptism yesterday!
“Soul, adorn yourself with gladness,
Leave the gloomy haunts of sadness;
Come into the daylight’s splendor,”
“There with joy your praises render.
Bless the One whose grace unbounded”
“He, though heav’nly, high, and holy,
Deigns to dwell with you most lowly.”
I’m so thankful for all the helping hands I had this weekend. Help with the babies, the cooking, the serving, the cleaning and even with the fun. I started a tradition of sending cookies for the childrens’ Sunday School classes on Reformation Sunday last year and wanted to keep it up this year. Grandma and our friend Wendi were glad to get Doves stuffed into bags for me!
We’re a no go on the “good family photo”. But…this is our family, no use trying to capture anything different.
We were so happy that Ephraim’s sponsors, Dan and Wendi could come all the way from Indiana to be with us on this wonderful day!
“Father welcomes all His children
To His fam’ly through His Son
Father giving His salvation
Life forever has been won.”
“In the water in the Word
In His promise be assured
Those who are baptised and believe
Shall be born again.”
Father Welcomes All His Children LSB #616
You’ve got a fine looking family. Obviously, the kids knew it was time to eat, so picture-taking is far from their minds. Right?
So thankful for God’s gifts to Ephraim Job! Welcome to the family, little man! Our prayers for strength are with you.
He’s such a precious little guy. You have some wonderful little helpers too. I will be praying for Ephraim and the rest of you.
Prayers needed? Say no more!
On a personal note, I thank you for sharing the baptism photos and hymnody. I needed that today.
Praying for you and your family.
HEY! I know Dan and Wendi!!! 🙂 We are at a church not far from them! Small world!
I will keep your little guy in prayers.
In the waters of his baptism, Jesus has called him by name and promises to be with him always.
Thank you all so much for your prayers!
Emily, how funny! (Dan and Phil were classmates at Fort Wayne) What a crazy thing to be on a blog and see people you know! Small world for sure!
