Next time you’re in South Dakota you really should check out Sioux Falls. Phil and I spent 3 days there last week, a little hiatus from our day to day, to do absolutely nothing or a whole lot of relaxing and we did both very well.
Pool side at our hotel.
The following pictures are especially for my cousin Weslie who was right when he said this blog NEEDED more shirtless Phil pictures….
Eat your heart out Wes!
Hubba Hubba!
Oh the glorious hot tub. The very place a pregnant woman could sit in for hours warming soar muscles away, but the very place from which she is miserably banished. “All are punish-ed!”
At least my aching feet found some joy.
I did do a little research about hot tub use during pregnancy and I was happy to learn that up to 10 minutes is fine. As long as you stay hydrated and don’t forget your watch, you and baby should be okay. Alas, I had left my swimsuit at home and had nothing else to wear in water. Poor me.
One more plus for Sioux Falls in my book…the mountain of Idaho Nachos at Granite City…come to Mama! Ok, really I shouldn’t have eaten these… and a hamburger. I may try one day to do that again. I wasn’t hungry for a week afterward, but don’t even try to pretend you could have resisted.
On our last night we went downtown (yes, right downtown are the Falls of Sioux Falls! Beautiful.) for a laser light and sound show.
Sorry for the crummy pictures…it was dark.
Later that night we sat at a bar and thought about how weird it was that we were sitting at a bar. It was way past my bedtime. And I have to add, the bar was called Monks House of Ale Repute. Perfect.
Before heading out of town we stopped to see two of Michelangelo’s sculptures, Moses and David. Yes, they’re replicas but don’t tell the Sioux Fallians.
I believe I was 6 when I saw the original David back in my days of Wanderlust a long long time ago (Wait, Mom did I make that up? Cuz I really think I remember that).
Yea for getting away, yea for so much good food, yea for Sioux Falls!
Lovely falls – not like the “fake” falls at Wichita Falls Texas….
You remember the “David” correctly, but you made me “cover him” in our photo album; and there you are, standing there proud as punch! hah! 🙂
Ha ha ha! Well, yes, but someone really sould get this guy some fig leaves.
