~ Capturing the context of everyday life ~
Every Thursday (or Friday, oops) at Like Mother, Like Daughter!
{Pretty}
Poor Clara as second daughter has learned to become “the boy” when big Sister is around. If Lily is the Princess, Clara is King, if Lily wears a necklace, Clara wears a “bow tie”. But when big Sister is at school Clara finally gets to be “the beautiful girl” or a princess and wear all the pink and pretties she wants! I crank up the music and she is a pretty pretty ballerina.
{Happy}
Clara has the greatest time stirring up the remaining flour left on the counter after I get the bread baking. It looked magical in setting sunlight. If I could be half as happy about anything as she was about watching that flour fall to the floor….
Phil and I listened as Clara sang to herself in her room during quiet time. I remember he said, “Clara doesn’t have a cent to her name but listen to how happy she is.” The things we can learn from a 2 year old!
What would happen if I opened my hands to joyfully receive the goodness around me more often? Most of the time these simple pleasures just go unnoticed.
{Funny}
Clara always has her own way of doing things.
{Real}
This is a moment that seems to happen 100 times a day. Usually a moment like this makes me want to run screaming and lock myself in the bathroom, but this time for some reason I decided to laugh and grab my camera.
I wish I could have the strength to laugh more often.
I love this post- it’s so real! That last photo makes me laugh, but I’m sure if I were the mama, I’d want to run and hide too! And Clarie is a beautiful princess!
Isn’t she a pretty thing!
