Gah, I’m super late taking Gerhardt’s 12 month portrait, he’s already 13 months, but I promise he looked a lot like this a month ago, minus 1.5 teeth and the attitude.
This was not an easy photo shoot. But, thankfully, not as bad as Lily’s 12 month portrait. (This is why I don’t pay someone to take pictures for us!)
There’s just no sitting still for this little man anymore, he’s all over the place, but did take the time to fill his diaper right after I got it on. His very loose diaper that I was sure would drop his surprise at any second. It managed to keep everything in long enough for me to get some pictures, but these are as good as it got.
For real, this is what I had to work with.
He’s finally figured out that life with Daddy is way more fun than with boring old Mama who doesn’t go outside and doesn’t perform acrobatic acts with him, so he and Daddy are best buddies now.
He cut two more teeth this month and at his one year check up we learned he’s “short” or a midget as Phil says. He’s in the 10th% for height, 50th% for weight. So for a wee little man, he still packs a punch. He’s 28lbs and 23 inches of sweet, tough and busy. And he’d still love to mop your kitchen if you want him to.
Letter I wrote to newborn Gerhardt a whole year ago:
A third miracle, a son, my sweet little boy! What a precious gift to me and Daddy. Our Gerhardt is finally here and we are so proud. You melt my heart with your first little grins and squeaky cry. I look into your face and already I see a little boy. Will you stay my scrawny little fella? Will your eyes be blue or brown? Will you have Daddy’s dimples? We shall see. Right now I’ll just enjoy every tiny wonderfully made part of you and in the years to come we pray to find you’ve become a faithful, wise and godly young man.
I love you funny Papa and can’t wait to see all the changes you’ll go through in the year to come.
yes, he is a sweet, funny little fella! Before y’all know it he will “turn around…”
I think he is a handsome little guy.
