A Bundle of Myrrh

"My beloved is unto me as a bundle of myrrh." Song of Solomon 1:13

At The Parsonage

July 27th, 2011 by Aubri

This week it feels like everyone is just trying to make it through the long hot days. We had some water leaking into the girls room in the basement and Phil found out, by digging around, that there was not enough dirt around the foundation to keep this from happening so he’s spent several afternoons outside adding and packing dirt around the walls.

Gerhardt was eager to help his daddy. They worked tirelessly side by side, Phil packing the dirt, Gerhardt eating it.

What can I say, it happens to the best of us.

We got Lily a new car seat and for the first time, actually got something for a girl! We typically go neutral on purchases like this, but since she’ll be in it for a while and then Clara after her, we figured we’d indulge her love of all things pink.

Look at her admiring it! “Thank you for my new car seat Daddy, I love it!” she said.

The babies also found a new place to play this week.

It’s a little inconvenient for me to have everyone and everything in this cabinet underfoot while I cook, but they love it, stay occupied and only smash a few fingers in the process, so I’m not gonna complain…for now.

If you teach them how to play “orphanage,” then you’ll never see or hear them. Although the more I think about that game, the more depressing it sounds.

“Orphanage”! Hours of depressing fun! Gerhardt’s definitely got the orphan look going for him. If I see them slinking out of the house with wide terrified eyes watching me, I’ll know what they’re up to.
