July 14: We did a lot of eating in France, a lot of Alsatian cuisine, sausage, cabbage, pork, potatoes and white wines. A few evenings we met up with the group from the Academy. Most meals were eaten with Rose in my lap. She was happy to take care of any food I was dropping on her head.
My morning tradition became a Cappuccino and croissant from the bakery down the street called L’Atelier 116. Usually it was too crowded or too sunny and got to stay at the bakery’s outdoor seating so Rose and I would walk around the corner to the lovely and shady Place Saint -Thomas to enjoy our breakfast. Rose had her first bite of a real croissant and couldn’t understand the amount of goodness she was tasting. After recovering she was happy to have more. I was just happy she saved some for me!
Can we all just take a minute to thank Jesus for “French” Italian pizza crust? Rose got off to a rough start tonight at dinner this night but the delicious crust saved us all. We ate calmly and even got dessert.
The time Phil couldn’t get over how much Rose and I have in common.
Time for a Mojito!
The moral of this story is , don’t forget to eat if you ever go to Strasbourg.
