Finally on December 22nd the babies were out of school for a two week Christmas break. We didn’t waste any time getting the house ready for the Feast days of the Nativity. Lily busied herself making muffins to be eaten on Christmas morning. They all requested Pumpkin Chocolate Chip opposing my usual mix up of Cranberry Chocolate Chip. But pumpkin can still be Christmasy right? In any case it’s always yummy. Gerhardt mopped the kitchen and it needed it after about a month of soil-ness.
I’ll add here it’s very very strange to me to have babies that are getting old enough to actually perform these sorts of tasks. Work yourself out of a job right? That’s my plan anyway.
This year I went a lot more sparse on the Christmas decor. I could only think about just how much energy it requires to get it all out and the fact that it would have to be taken down at a time of year when we would have a newborn! I curbed my enthusiasm greatly. Also, my Lily Jade bag “Rosie” says hello. Isn’t she beautiful?! Someday she will get an entire post all to herself.
And we finally FINALLY decorated our Christmas tree! It did not go as smoothly as it did last year and we only tapped into less than a 1/4 of our tree ornaments but it was done and the babies were thrilled to have it all pretty like and festive.
