Saturday we wait for the day of the Resurrection and prepare for the feasting. Our egg coloring went pretty well. I think only one major spill and minimal impatient arguing. Even Jigi behaved, happy just to observe instead of destroy. Shew!
I only iron once a year and this is that day. I always love seeing all these beautiful white Easter dresses lined up waiting their turns.
We had been invited to Easter Lunch at the home of some of our members so I was not going to need to get a lot cooked up for our Sunday lunch. But I had a notion to bake something. I knew if I made something I liked I’d be stuck eating the entire thing so it would need to be something the babies would like.
I had a cake mix on hand and a Clara in the kitchen eager to help so I pitched the idea of a Resurrection Garden cake and she jumped on it.
She had fun being creative. We laughed a lot trying to figure out how to make a last minute “tomb” and how to get that tomb to stand upright. A small round cake and 5 wooden coffee stirrers were the answer. It was not pretty in the back so don’t look, just enjoy the front.
Beautiful tomb and garden- looks good enough to eat! 🙂
