A Bundle of Myrrh

Outside The Parsonage

January 22nd, 2011 by Aubri

When I was in the 2nd grade we were told that I needed to get glasses. I didn’t have to wear them all the time then as I do now in order to see more than 1 mm in front of my face, so I would take them off when I would go outside to play. It was not uncommon for me to forget where I had put them and unfortunately not ever remember…

My mother’s favorite instance of this was when I thought it would be a good idea to leave my glasses on top of her car and forget to get them before she drove off to the store. You can imagine what happened to that pair of glasses and to my be-hind.

This information from my past might have served Phil well to know before he decided to take me for a wife. I’ve not lost a pair of glasses in over 20 years, but I do still have a knack for being reckless with spendy items. To bring this story to it’s point I had to mention to you all that I lost our camera in the snow 10 days ago now. It was not the smartest thing I’ve ever done, slipping it into my coat pocket then getting a wild ride on a sled.  It just seemed like something someone would want pictures of. Oh well. Poor Phil looked for a very long time out there but alas no camera was found.

Then a couple days later our neighbor knocked on the door and handed me my CAMERA! He said he’d found it in his yard (where I’d gotten off the sled) in a block of ice! And can you believe there is no damage!? So I can finally show you all the pictures I took of that fateful day. (And we won’t have to spring for a new camera! Yay!) Sorry, no pictures of me on the sled.

Lily and I react the same way about shoveling snow, but she’s cuter.
