I already posted about our celebration of the Feast of Pentecost but June brought many more commemorations and feasts as well. Of course I didn’t remember all of them and what I did do was so simple they hardly warranted an entire post. So here are snips of some of the church days we marked during June.
June 11: Trinity Sunday. White. The girls were able to wear their white Easter dresses again for this day. I loved that we got to eat Chocolate Cake at church that morning! It was so good and all over 2 of the girls white dresses surprise surprise. But nothing a bunch of spray fabric cleaner can’t fix.
And I slaved over a frozen Three Berry Pie from WalMart. Slaved y’all. And for a store bought pie it was actually so so good. I don’t remember enjoying a pie as much as I did this one.
And it kept reminding me of SOMETHING. What is that? Oh! Right!
South Korea. Of course. Maybe it’s just me.
June 24th: Nativity of St. John The Baptist. We remembered John by eating locusts. This looks like a locust right?
June 29th: The Feast of Sts. Peter and Paul. We read a little book and ate fish…by accident. I’d forgotten this one and for some reason served fried fish anyway! Win!
And I’ll throw this one in. We learned about Elijah during our History Lesson. Here we have an Altar on Fire snack. We did however skip the drenching with water.
Clever ideas! You could have gone outside and drenched everybody with the hose… southern style!
Those slaved over pies are the best kind! 🙂
I can get on board eating those locusts.
