*Blog catch up time. Time with 2 free hands is rare these days.*
A new baby brings with them the adjusting phase. A slightly new rhythm of disruption mixed with some chaos in a hazy fog as Mama figures out how to land back on her feet.
Really by now we have it mostly figured out. We know the plan and it typically goes well until eventually I realize one day that we’re living the “New Normal” as the phrase goes. We have a new normal every year in our family. One more baby tucked snugly into our family belt and we go on with life as scheduled.
The babies are pretty routine but I’m seeing now that it’s the bigger babies I have that are in many ways the NEW. Lily and her books one after the other she gulps them down. I find her all over the house perched with her words and swimming through her chapters.
They keep growing these precious babies of mine. Changing and needing their hair braided or their portraits drawn.
They want to help and I really do try to give them something to do. I want them to learn to be helpful and feel needed and to create. It’s harder for me to allow that than I’d wished. I have hope that as I continue to get stronger after this pregnancy I’ll be able to bring them under my wings more and into the kitchen with me.
Clara and I decided we’d try something new. Watermelon Salad with basil and feta cheese. She made it herself and actually ate a lot of it!
She also tried to learn how to do The Charleston thanks to Youtube and my mom!
And the whole time this little munchkin sleeps and snorts and looks around at her new world.
I enjoyed seeing all the pictures.
