On the Sixth day of Christmas Lily’s BFF came to our house to spend the afternoon. “J” is in her class at school and also a member of our church.
After some playing outside we had “SnowJuice.” That’s trademarked by the way and just what it sounds like, snow with juice on it. We traditionally use whatever juice I happen to have in the fridge but thanks to my mama we had snow cone syrup this year!
Whatev’ peeps. Don’t knock it till you try it!
After lunch the sugars decorated gingerbread houses.
I had every intention of starting over the weekend cutting and cooking all the pieces for the house. I wanted everyone to have their own tiny house, but that didn’t happen.
I went to Walmart to hunt down any gingerbread house making kits leftover from Christmas frenzy. Alas, I was way too late. I rummaged through the Christmas junk no one wanted and found nary a kit. But if you’re looking for Valentine’s Day candy I know where you can find tons of it!
So I decided the babies would have to pair up. I found some energy deep within and under a pile of laundry I mucked out a bit of Christmas cheer and managed to make enough dough and pieces for 3 gingerbread houses.
And no the frosting would not be homemade this year.
They turned out lovely though don’t you think?
And the babies had fun.
I don’t know.
Maybe Esther didn’t have any fun, but by golly she did suck down a lot of that frosting.
Goodness, did those turn out good!
Great job everyone!
And what was that about frosting disappearing….seems to happen at our house too!
