Saturday it was time to do Thanksgiving right! It was also the day our new friend Barb was coming over to visit. It was her birthday so we decided she would not only be our guest for Thanksgiving, but we would also throw her a surprise party.
And she was surprised. The babies practiced for days hiding and jumping out with balloons and yelling Happy Birthday. They also had worked hard preparing a special show for her to enjoy!
I was amazed and proud that the big girls SANG and PLAYED THE PIANO for her! Clara played Ode to Joy then sang Jolly Old St. Nicholas. Lily sang selections from Disney’s Frozen.
Esther performed the ABCs. Gerhardt presented Barb with a picture he had colored.
And lastly, Phil wowed the crowd with his Juggling Spectacular act!
Our Thanksgiving table. Notice the mashed potatoes and of course the Mac N Cheese…again, for Lily.
A birthday cake decorated by the girls.
Barb has been a great blessing to our family. When we first came to our new church, she pulled us in right away with hugs and kisses and she grabs Martha every Sunday for me which is a huge help!
We are blessed to know her and had a great time celebrating her life!
What a blessing to have such a wonderful family friend! What kind of flowers are those? are they real? They are beautiful. Looking forward to meeting Barb some day
How Fun! I’m so proud of you and your family for being a blessing to others. Not only is it more blessed to give than to receive, I say it’s also more Fun to give than to receive (on the human level, at least…nothing can outweigh the Greatest Gift from our Heavenly Father!) Thanks for being sensitive and selfless by giving of yourselves to make Barb know how much she is loved.
Thank you Jesus for Barb!
What a wonderful day for Barb! And how nice to have another “grandmother” to be on hand for your family- I know y’all are as much a blessing to her as she is to y’all! 🙂
