For any of you wondering, no, baby girl isn’t here yet. I’m 40 weeks now, due dates are rolling in. We have 3 of them as usual, the 14-16th, of April thankfully, not of March.
I’m happy to report that all is still going well with me and baby though I’m so ready to be done with this part.
I haven’t taken baby belly pictures in a while. I think since Gerhardt. But I just had to today because of the 40 week mark and because this big girl was giving me a hug and it took me back 6 years ago to the times she and I would sit together when it was just the two of us and she would wrap her 10 month old little arms around me and hug my Clara baby belly. My first baby and my seventh baby right here.
True I’ve been feeling ok, but also true, I’m completely out of energy all the time and in the terribly uncomfortable, painful phase of these final days. Phil’s parents were here a couple weeks ago. And now my mom and aunt have come to take over all the work that must be done while I waddle around the house, restless, waiting and whining.
The babies are mostly in good spirits despite my constant grousing from the couch.
The homework and the dancing are getting done.
Most of the time the babies are able to entertain each other by threatening to eat one another.
And this big guy vacuumed the house for about 3 hours the other day!
I’m willing to rent him out!
We’re also accomplishing some home improvement projects. Some of our furniture has received new life. A couple months ago we got this stool from IKEA.
It was quickly decorated in Marker Art, Artist Unknown. But thanks to my husband, BOOM! Beautiful!
And since we have ordered a new table for our kitchen which will be made of Hickory and stained a dark shade of walnut, we decided to go ahead and do something about our icky kitchen chairs.
Et voilà! Stained, recovered…and wipeable! These we are especially proud of after having found out that they are vintage, sold in 1958 in New Hampton, IA near the town Phil served his Vicarage year. Well made chairs and now hopefully able to withstand another 50+ years.
There’s always plenty to help keep my mind occupied around here when I’m in this delicate condition and thanks be to God, plenty of hands to come to my aid in these final weeks. It’s usually a time of anticipation and reflection as I look forward to meeting and bringing home our newest baby and bidding adieu to these days of “just 6” children.
Our home is so full of life and love and chaos and crazy and now we are given more. We are so blessed!
And yes, tired.
You and me both Mercy girl!
We wait with you and pray that God will bless you with your bundle of joy really, really, really soon! You Are Beautiful!!!
I can’t wait to see pictures! We will keep you all in our prayers!!
Love and hugs!
❤️❤️
May His peace be with you! This is such a tough time in the pregnancy.
I’m now at 19 weeks, and I FINALLY feel not too awfully nauseous. I’m not sure why it lasted so long this time, but I’m still worn out easily. I don’t know if this pregnancy is tougher because it just is or because I’m nearing the big 4-0.
I’m glad you have plenty of help. Enjoy whining 🙂
You are in our prayers. Looking forward to seeing pictures!
Those are beautiful chairs, and that’s a beautiful belly.
(By 40 weeks Michael’s wardrobe is halved because I’m wearing all his shirts, so good for you for still fitting in your own–without the midriff look!)
