The Lephrechaun Fun Run

We’ve been heading to “the next town over” since 2011 for the annual Lephrachaun Fun Run that kicks off their grand St. Patrick’s Day festival. I still don’t know why St. Patrick’s Day is such a big deal for them. Aren’t they all German up here?

Anyway, we like to go. We missed it last year cuz Phil had an owie and couldn’t run, so I was glad to get back to our tradition.

Phil pushes the Baby Train in the run. And as usual we got a LOT of looks with it. Someone even yelled across the street, “Are y’all Catholic? Gee Whiz!”

I wanted to tell him “Nope, just lazy Lutherans.”

The big girls and I SAT on Main St. and waited the entire 22 minutes for Daddy to finish his 5k. He came in 4th place in his age bracket btw which is quite impressive given the extra load.

And here he came!

Ephraim and Esther were busy trying to hitch another ride. They need to work on that.

After Phil’s big finish we stuck around for lunch and bouncy houses and too much popcorn.

(Finally a baby the right size to wear this sweet little shamrock dress for St. Patrick’s!)

We watched some of the parade.

And got candy.

I’ll just warn y’all. Clara is fierce competitor when it comes to the parade candy grab. Seriously, don’t get in her way, you’ll be destroyed.

Happy St. Patrick’s Day to you all! I’m hoping to do some saintly stuff with the kiddos today to commemorate Patrick…if I can muster the energy.

I don’t know. Maybe we’ll just all have a beer.

It’s so funny to see your littles running for candy at the parade; they are growing up….:-) Congratulations to daddy for making it another year, and in great time!

Oh man. Love love love the baby train. I had a good laugh at your Catholic/Lazy Lutheran words.
