Finally we begin to decorate the house for Christmas, turn on the Christmas carols and ease our waiting.
Gifts for school teachers are readied and wrapped.
Saturday night my true love brought to me burgers, fries and a Christmas Tree!
Sunday we decorated it. Trimming the tree has never been the storybook experience at our house. I both anticipate it and dread it. I’ve never cared how our tree looks in the end, I want the babies to have fun, but there’s always that moment when I snap. After one too many ornaments get broken, one too many fits get thrown and the level of chaos just goes a bit too far for me.
I had to put myself in time out Sunday while Phil helped everyone finish up.
We light the last candle on our wreath. The babies cheer that they’re finally all lit. I look at them and they remind me of how far we’ve come. I think of how full the busy month of December was and how quickly it sped by. It makes me tired but content to see how God brought us through.
For the first time in over 10 days no one has thrown up so that’s good! It looks like I’ll be the only one sick for Christmas which I guess is better than what it’s been. I just wish I had the energy to wash the boogers out of Mercy’s hair. I feed my babies frozen pizza and look thankfully at all the stockings we hang this year. God is good.
Well look at that. Merry Christmas to me!
Ah, so true. Advent is nearing an end, and Christmas draws ever closer. It’s fun to see the transformation of the home (despite the full-blown chaos it creates).
Hope you feel better really, really soon!
No shame in “frozen” pizzas. Elsa would be proud! 🙂
Kristi you make me laugh. 🙂 Let It Go and have a Frozen pizza! Love it.
I am so sorry Aubri that you are sick and that there have been so many barfy sheets. Lord have mercy.
May the Lord renew your strength.
