Β A truck cake would have been cool.

Β (still that cute after all these years)

Β But I let the babies work together to make the cake, it was chocolate chip and basketballs.

Daddy’s favorite things other than fishing, but we don’t put fish in cake here.

*Note, next year Truck full of M&Ms cake.

We like angel food cake for birthdays. We like to put fresh strawberries on the top – light and yummy.

Some people like pies. I don’t know how that would go over for your little people, though.

My all-time favorite is ice-cream cake. I could eat that every month at every single birthday party. Every Time.

Oh, and happy birthday to Phil!

Love the cake. Don’t have too many other ideas though. Sometimes I just bake cookies for birthdays. Or we get an ice cream cake from DQ. Happy birthday to your husband. Party on sister.

Every so often one of my kids requests a cheesecake in lieu of actual cake. I gladly oblige πŸ˜‰

OOOOH….I made an ice cream cake this week…had to take birthday treats to school for a co-worker. It was a HUGE hit, and pretty simple! Make a brownie mix in a 9 x 13 pan. Bake and cool. Top it with a can (or…1 1/2 cans is better πŸ™‚ fudge frosting. Freeze for a little bit to firm up the frosting. Then, spread with 1 1/2-2 quarts of any of your favorite ice cream (soften it by letting it sit out for about 30 minutes, before spreading) (We loved it with chocolate chip ice cream…but birthday cake ice cream would be good…or really…any kind that is a favorite!) Freeze til the ice cream is solid again. Then, top with cool whip. (I used real whipping cream (2 cups, whipped with 1/2 c. sugar) To make it look festive, top with sprinkles. OH. SO. YUMMY!

Looking forward to birthday season πŸ™‚ chocolate custard is a nice non-cake birthday treat.

Happy Birthday! and Happy Birthday Season! Ours starts in July πŸ˜€ Last year a dear friend made my husband the best apple pie ever . . . and I ate half of it.

I’m really hoping she makes that again πŸ˜€
