A Bundle of Myrrh

"My beloved is unto me as a bundle of myrrh." Song of Solomon 1:13

Pentecost Sunday

May 20th, 2013 by Aubri

A simple celebration of Pentecost on Sunday.

I’ve always liked the idea of hanging a dove over our table on this day so I was interested to learn that this was a tradition in medieval times as well.

Pay no attention that ours is not wooden, but a paper plate dove, “shot” two times and strung up by the neck. I couldn’t find a good way to hang him….sorry.

Flames of Fire cookies inspired by these very pretty ones.

I didn’t have a “fire” or “raindrop” cookie cutter to make these with so I bought an egg cookie cutter and trimmed the shape I wanted. Some I left “egg” shaped because I was lazy. Clara was very excited about the “Flames of Egg cookies”.

A coloring page.

The girls really wanted to do a craft so we made Tongues of Fire Crowns.

Did you celebrate the Day of Pentecost at your house?

    Do they speak in tongues?

I love your projects, Aubri. You are a wonderful mom and teacher to your little ones.

After all you do, you have the nerve to call yourself lazy?!? For shame…. 🙂
