Catching up at the parsonage…
A healthy snack tray went over well with the babies. I was just happy I had enough healthy things to put in it that day!
Do you have a recipe that’s been in the family a while? One that no one can right down? One of those “a little this, a little that till it tastes right” recipes? This is mine, Cole Slaw. I think my grandmother made it, then my aunt who taught me how. Now every time I make slaw it’s this recipe. I always think of my aunt Sylvia when I make it and sometimes it actually tastes like hers!! Thanks Fafi!
Tuesday Esther and Gerhardt came down with something, throwing up and high fevers. I was afraid we were all about to pass the Flu around. But by Wednesday they were fine. I’m not sure what that was but I’m glad it wasn’t more serious.
We’re already working with Ephraim on his walking! He didn’t like it too much.
Unfortunately Clara has “the bug” now. Throwing up, but no fever.
I guess it will make it’s way through all of us. I just hope the little guy gets away without it!
I won’t even say anything about this one… How’s your week been?
That coleslaw is making great success in the Nordic countries. We’ve made it many times in Finland and everyone who tries it, loves it. Last fall my sister in Sweden made it for a church event, and passed the recipe on to some Norwegians who where there. And, mine never tastes like Sylvia’s either.
Grandma would laugh at the success of her slaw! In the south we just say “slaw” (there’s no “cole” to it)! Such a good legacy to pass down through the generations and on to other countries! Yay Fafi!
I thought it was Daddy that made the famous slaw and potato salad. Too bad she and I can’t master Mama’s Divinity candy though!
don’t you just love that curly hair! 🙂
Was it Grumpy that made the slaw?
Yes, Grandmere, I do like that curly top…business on the sides, party on the top! Phil says it looks like hair plugs!
Grumpy did make the potato salad, but Grandma made the slaw!
