This month brought more snow, heavy fog, ice, power outages, Phil away from home and sickness so I say so long to a long January! The week I had hoped would be a none stop Girl Party for me and my Mama turned into a frustrating and trying 5 days. We lost power several times during the night and at times during the days that followed. We bundled up, lit candles and prayed for it to come back on. Once it did we would scramble around to make supper at 3 in the afternoon in case it went back off. Phil finally made it home on Friday, in time for 40 mph winds and more snow. The stress of the week gave me a nice viral infection with fever, soar throat and mouth ulcers! My mom was a rock for me over the last few weeks. I’m slowly getting back on my feet and sure wishing she was back here!

Staying warm!

I know, I know, more snow pictures, but right now it’s all we’ve got for entertainment. Hey, up here, this time of year, when you got some sunshine and 20 degree weather you enjoy it while you can. Here’s the snow hill in our front yard. It’s higher than ever this year so Phil made us climb.

Phil spies some land he will conquer.

I woke up this morning and felt unusually cold. Phil said that our heater wasn’t working. When it’s 11 degrees BELOW zero outside, you want a working heater! I bundled the girls up and feared spending the day under blankets, but since this happened last winter Phil figured he’d just have to get up on our roof and de-ice the steam valve thingy up there that gets clogged with ice and snow. So that’s what he did and thankfully it worked, the heat started running again. Phil’s our hero!
