Cooking for Holy Week

Holy Week is typically a busy and tiring week for us. But thankfully this year Phil has found it to be a little more “relaxed” than it has been in the past. Having been through this a few times helps. I feel I’ve been busier though, with baking and cooking and trying very hard to get the house cleaned for Easter (yes, a futile task).

For Maundy Thursday supper I made a flat bread and lentil soup. Both turned out much better than I’d expected and Phil consented to allowing me to make this a tradition for Maundy Thursdays.

I made these Valentine’s Day treats for a ladies meeting I went to this week. I thought they were so cute and were definitely very yummy!

These were so easy to make too. They took a little longer than I thought they would especially while trying to keep little hands away from the sprinkles and candies. If you have bigger kiddos though, these would be a lot of fun to make together! For the recipes I used look here and here.

Popcorn “from scratch” where have you been all my life?! We were given a bag of popcorn kernels for Christmas and I just got around to popping it stove top style and my! That is some tasty corn! We all temporarily lost all our good manners, sat around a big bowl and scarfed down two batches of this stuff.
