We finally decided and got permission to put a garden in the yard at the parsonage! We’ve gardened around town in available plots which was nice to have but a pain to travel so far to plant, weed and pick. It will be great to have what we want right in our yard!

Lily’s First Fieldtrip
Saturday, November 5th, 2011
The preschool classes went to the pumpkin patch a few weeks ago. I still can’t believe she’s old enough to be going to school and now going on field trips! Phil got to chaperone so we got some pictures.
First Day
Wednesday, August 17th, 2011
Today was Lily’s first day of pre-school at our community school in town. Phil had to take her as I was worried how I’d behave.
I went to pick her up though and she seemed to have had a great time. I’m excited to begin this new phase in her and our family’s life. Clara will have to make the biggest adjustment I think. She didn’t handle Sissy leaving without her very well.
She cried for a while then just didn’t know what to do with herself.
But we spent the morning doing a few things together. We made PBJs, lemonade and finger painted. That helped.
Growing Lily
Monday, June 6th, 2011
Today Lily went to Vacation Bible School at our church. I was so excited for her and a little misty eyed (well, in my mind at least) watching her walk out the door with Phil to head over to the church. I love that she is getting old enough to begin doing these things. I’m hoping she loves it too.
She was a little reluctant to stay in her classroom and during recreation she clung to Phil who was overseeing that for a while. She had to come inside the house with me until that was over then seemed okay to go back to her classroom and to her teacher.
I’m looking forward to her being able to sing in the Friday night program the children put on. I’m such a sap for things like that!
I think ahead to her going to Pre-School in August and starting to attend Sunday School. It seems unreal that this time is here. Some days it was hard to imagine her being this age and starting to go out on her own. I get a little worried sometimes thinking of her being under someone else’s care and out from under me. But I’m ready to see her begin to spread her little baby wings!
