October 25: Reformation Sunday. All month in October we spend some time reading about Martin Luther and the Reformation. It’s always such a festive day. This year due to the pandemic we didn’t hold a Hymn Sing with church members in our home as we have in past years. It was much more subdued this time. We sang a few as a family. Esther, as our 3rd grader this year, received a cover for her new Bible, I made our annual big German meal with Schnitzel, Karottensalat and SpƤtzle and Lily made Triple Chocolate Pumpkin Bundt cake…it was amazing.

The Feast of St. Michael

September 27: This Sunday we observe the Feast of St. Michael and All Angels (Sep 29.) This feast day really kicks off the Fall season in my mind. I love talking about God’s warriors, messengers and guardians with the babies. The great battle in Heaven and the defeat of Satan. What a story, a real story for them to learn.

May 9: It’s still Easter. Our Kantor had the idea to put together a ‘virtual choir.’ Our kiddos played bells and there were many other great contributions. I love this!

Happy Easter! Our weather forecast for Holy Saturday and Easter Sunday did not look good so we dressed quickly on Good Friday and ran out for Mama to get some pictures of the babies in their Easter clothes. Saturday turned out to be a gorgeous day but Sunday was as they said, gray, cold and windy. Anyway, we got some good ones.
