Our New Parsonage Reboot

As most of you know we are temporarily renting a house while our Church’s parsonage is reworked. The parsonage is a ranch style home that was built in the late 1960s and has had little work done on it since that time. It needed it.
Construction began last month and we were so excited to see it get going! We are hoping it will be done and ready for us around February.
We will be in our rental until April but would be glad to begin a slow move into our new home before then! I thought some of you would like to see a bit of the progress, so here are some photos. The last 2 pictures are of the end result: Larger kitchen, a laundry and mudroom, larger master bath with shower, large master closet and 2 new rooms added to the basement.
And yes, I misspelled foyer…I’m too lazy to fix that.
Parsonage Under Construction

About a year ago Phil and I had decided that we needed to start thinking about a bigger table for our family. We knew we needed something big, but didn’t know what that meant or where we could find what we wanted.
We joked about conference tables and even poked around on Craiglist to see if any of those were for sale. They were, but they were….conference tables, not pretty kitchen tables. The more we looked into finding an “affordable large table” the more we realized;
1. It would be hard to find a nice used table that I liked.
2. It was gonna cost us if we wanted anything worth keeping for more than another 8 years. Furniture, especially quality furniture ain’t cheap.
