Happy Baptism Day Clara!

Thursday, June 30th, 2011

On the 28th we celebrated Clara’s second “re-birthday”. And what a blessing to have her Godparents, Randall and Christi, who just happened to be here on this day from Texas to share it with us!

God’s own child, I gladly say it: I am baptized into Christ!
He, because I could not pay it, gave my full redemption price.
Do I need earth’s treasures many?
I have one worth more than any
That brought me salvation free,
Lasting to eternity!

We had a Very Hungry Caterpillar birthday party to celebrate because, well, she’s our very hungry little caterpillar.

Big Potty Girl!

Saturday, March 26th, 2011

Today was a momentous day at our house. Clara did a # twosie and a # onesie on the potty without being “prompted”! We haven’t started potty training her in earnest yet but she is very familiar with what happens on that little chair since she watches Lily often and with great interest. We do let her where big girl panties around the house sometimes but that usually just leads to big girl messes. But today, out of the blue, success! Yay Clarie!

Collecting Satisfactions

Tonight while reading “The Very Hungry Caterpillar” Clara pointed to the fat caterpillar (after he’d eaten all that food he eats and gets a tummy ache) and said “Too mush” before Phil could.  Then she said “Coon!” knowing that on the following page that caterpillar would be getting inside his cocoon.

It’s just amazing to me that she remembers the story and is now able to communicate that by TALKING! It’s the little things folks! The little things that really are the big things.
