January 9: After the airline cancelled our flight to Houston back in June they issued vouchers to us to fly another time. We weren’t sure we’d ever get around to actually using them, we didn’t know if we’d be able to leave Rose or if there was even anywhere we wanted to fly. But as time passed and our vouchers neared expiration Phil decided we needed to use them and a getaway would do us some good. We chose Nashville a city neither one of us had ever visited but seemed more appealing than other destinations Southwest flew into. The more Phil researched what to do and more importantly what to EAT in Nashville we got more and more excited about this little adventure. He booked tickets, found a great place to stay and we were off!

June 10: We take a quick trip to Fredricksburg, Iowa to attend the 25th pastoral anniversary of Phil’s Vicarage Supervisor, Rev. Koch. Phil wanted to be there to commemorate this and to preach the sermon for the service. It was great to catch up with friends we had not seen for 6 years.
While there the kids were treated to a tour of a Buffalo Ranch.

And that’s what we did. We took our camper up to South Dakota, found a lovely place to camp and hike, got into Sioux Falls a couple times to eat. It was perfect.
