December 7: The Feast of St. Ambrose. Since this is one of Martin’s namesakes I wanted to make sure we remember to observe this day. Also, he is a man worth remembering. Being a great orator and preacher Ambrose was called the “Honey tongued doctor.” I came across a cookie recipe in one of my Christmas books with honey as a key ingredient so I had to try it for today. The Ambrosia honey and bee plate I had on hand from Martin’s first birthday party, fitting.
Josephine was very proud of her mouse cookie sculpture so I thought I’d show it off.
“O God, You gave Your servant Ambrose grace to proclaim the Gospel with eloquence and power. As bishop of the great congregation at Milan, he fearlessly bore reproach for the honor of Your name.
