March 16: Day 1 of mandatory “Hale School” aka homeschool. I’m glad homeschooling is not a totally foreign idea to me. The logistics of it didn’t worry me too much especially since our schools provided materials. Though I’ve never come close to doing this full time, “schooling” has always been something I’ve naturally incorporated into our family life at certain times already. Thankfully I also have tons of friends who homeschool and have read the blogs of Mamas homeschooling for years so the thought of it didn’t seem too scary.
What I was more concerned about managing the kids’ attitudes, cooperation and just basic behavior, but they did such a great job this morning. I’m so proud of them.
They were actually waaay too excited about it. I’m sure the longer this goes on the harder that part of schooling at home will get but we’re taking it one day, one week at a time for now.
