March 9: Spring Break from school begins. We pack up and head to MO again. We stop in Kansas City for lunch and a gander through the beautiful Union Station built in 1914.
They had such a fun train exhibit. So many different “towns” set up to look at.
A Piggly Wiggly!
This room was stunning. It’s hard to imagine what it would have been like when it was the waiting area. We did find a photo maybe from the 1930s or 40s that gave us an idea.
Another photograph we found. The building site as it was on 9-10-11. Phil called Esther over to see if that date sounded familiar to her. It would have been exactly 100 years before her birth date.
After our tour it was time to head to New Haven and the cabin.
