Many moons ago my sweet Mama gave these figures to me. Mrs. Pilgrim was beheaded at some point but thankfully glued back to life. I took them out of their box yesterday and for the first time their expressions struck me not as “Oh great, it’s Thanksgiving again” but more as a good confession of Thankfulness in the aftermath and midst of true suffering. Weary but content. In a world with so much suffering we can still “give thanks to the Lord for He is good.”
We had a busy week with crafts and plays and contests.
The week was also full of snafus and sickness. I wasn’t able to make it to our hosts home for Thursday dinner since some of the babies were sick. So we held a second Thanksgiving supper on Friday.
