This isn’t a picture of last year’s snow fall. It’s back. Our high today is a toasty 37 degrees. I’m so glad we’re leaving for Texas.

It’s finally Fall, my favorite time of the year! We’ve been enjoying some beautiful days in Bancroft. We know that mean Old Man Winter is waiting just around the corner, but for now, it’s perfect. We were in the 30s this morning but will warm up into the 70s by the afternoon so out we go to soak it in while we still have time.

(Old Man Winter)

The corn has turned from bright green to gold and now to brown. It’s ready for harvesting.

I was really wanting to get some pumpkins. We went to a pumpkin patch on Sunday night and bought a couple. When we got home someone, we still don’t know who, had placed these in our driveway. Now I’ve got gourds galore!

I’ve displayed some of them in the kitchen with my new Fall decoration, “Harvest Home”, I bought at a craft show that I went to Saturday with my new friend Wendy. She got a pumpkin bib for Lily. I thought it was too cute for milky baby drool so I hung it here with my other festive goodies.

Here’s what happens when you put a Texan mommy in Nebraska and it’s time to go outside. The Weather Channel said it was 53 degrees outside. Sorry, where I come from that’s cold, we’re talking winter, not a warm fall day. So on go the sweatpants…

the matching hoodie, socks and will she need gloves I wonder? Nah, no gloves this time, but she will need a hat and blanket of course!

Here’s my warm baby ready for her morning walk. By now it’s a sweltering 60 degrees outside. I hope the Nebraska mommies don’t see us….

Spring is finally here. At last, warm days, cool nights, short sleeves and more green than I’d ever imagined. Surviving such long winters does make you appreciate the newness and life Springtime brings.

Phil and I express our appreciation by taking time to smell the JAPANESE magnolia tree in our friend Eldon’s yard.
Phil looks cooler doing it than I do.

Eldon is letting Phil and I use his garden this year! Here is the future home of sweet corn, tomatoes, strawberries, green beans, peppers, lettuce and of course more onions than we’ll know what to do with!

Onions!
