One Month Old

Monday, October 10th, 2011

Esther is a month old today (note how prompt I am with this post!) and has perfected her stinky witch face.

This month has gone so quickly yet finally having Esther with us (this side of the tummy) has felt like such a long time. She has just fit right into the family like another piece of the puzzle that’s been here for such a long time, waiting to join the fun.

The first few months of “new baby” can be long and trying, but she’s been such an easy going baby, starting to stay awake more during the day and sleep longer stretches at night, 3-4 hours at a time! So we can’t complain.

I love watching her get plump, seeing her smiles, hearing her sweet little coos and laughing at her old lady screeches. Happy one month day baby sissy!

It Is Marvelous In Our Eyes

Saturday, October 1st, 2011

Our sweet Esther received the gifts and promises of God in Holy Baptism on Sunday.

“The LORD has done this,
and it is marvelous in our eyes.

The LORD has done it this very day;
let us rejoice today and be glad.”
Psalm 118: 23-24

Big Brother

Friday, September 16th, 2011

Meeting sister.

Gerhardt is adjusting very well to his new role as big brother. He thinks baby sis is alright, but the things she comes with are way cooler.

A bouncy seat!

A pacifier!

Oooo, and legs!

More Esther

For you created my inmost being;
you knit me together in my mother’s womb.

I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made;
your works are wonderful,
I know that full well.

My frame was not hidden from you
when I was made in the secret place,
when I was woven together in the depths of the earth.

Your eyes saw my unformed body;
all the days ordained for me were written in your book
before one of them came to be.

How precious to me are your thoughts, God!
How vast is the sum of them!
Were I to count them,
they would outnumber the grains of sand—
when I awake, I am still with you.”

Psalm 139
