The Trip to France

July 10: In March Phil was approached with an opportunity to attend John Warwick Montgomery’s International Academy of Apologetics, Evangelism & Human Rights that’s held in July in Strasbourg. With tuition and airfare paid for it seemed like a gift too great to pass up.

Then in May things changed with Rosie and leaving her in the care of someone else was not going to work. So it was either cancel the trip or take Rose. After a lot of thought and checking with her doctors we decided to take Rose. We didn’t know how it would go but we wanted to try to make the best of it and enjoy this new kind of adventure. We also prayed a lot that she’d stay healthy.

8th Grade Graduation

Confirmation Day

May 1: There are few days that give parents greater joy than the days their child is baptized and then the day they are able to make a public confession of their faith for themselves.

Given faith and salvation in her baptism, confirmation day is just another step she takes as she continues to grow in that faith. She marches in the Church Militant, now with the privilege to be strengthened in the battle at His Altar by His Holy body and blood.

We are blessed to call Lily our child but even more blessed to know she is God’s child.

5th Annual Chili Cook Off

February 12,13: Saturday started with the usual Chocolate chip pancakes. Then Clara and I spent most of the afternoon making a couple different kinds of chili for church tomorrow. On Super Bowl Sundays our congregation holds it’s annual Chili Cook Off as a fund raiser for our youth. At the last minute I decided to enter two kinds of chili. In a team effort Clara and I cooked up an authentic Texas style chili and a sweet and spicy more traditional chili.
