December Daily: Day 9

Lily and I read this book today during quiet time. The Bear family rides their “one horse open sleigh” to town and along the way pick up some of their friends. They cross paths with Santa and give him a lift since his reindeer are in bed with a cold.

I love some of the illustrations. Here are a couple of my favorites.

December Daily: Day Eight

Thursday, December 9th, 2010

Continuing the tradition of making Christmas cards for our church’s shut-in and care center members. I made it easy on myself this year and used stickers and stamps.

The girls had some sticker fun too. We love the stickers you got us Grandmere!

I thought I would have to leave our Advent Vespers service tonight. The girls were wound up more than usual, fighting over pencils, running to the pew in front of us, pushing each other off my lap and enjoying many other forms of naughtiness.

December Daily: Day Seven

Wednesday, December 8th, 2010

Nothing very exciting today. Mostly just doing laundry. I did go ahead and start the cloth diapers with Gerhardt. This is about the age I prefer to start cloth diapering and the time I run out of the disposables people give us when we have a baby.

And at Gerhardt’s insistence, I started my Holiday Baking List:

MORE Gingerbread Cookies for Christmas dinner with our neighbors

Chocolate Banana Bread

Chocolate Truffles for Munday Funday sitters

Chocolate Yule Log for Christmas Day

This list may grow or shrink depending on the reality of my life but one way or another I will have more chocolate and gingerbread this month!
