First Day

Today was Lily’s first day of pre-school at our community school in town. Phil had to take her as I was worried how I’d behave.
I went to pick her up though and she seemed to have had a great time. I’m excited to begin this new phase in her and our family’s life. Clara will have to make the biggest adjustment I think. She didn’t handle Sissy leaving without her very well.
She cried for a while then just didn’t know what to do with herself.
But we spent the morning doing a few things together. We made PBJs, lemonade and finger painted. That helped.

Each year we receive a message that requests a baby picture for the Lutheran’s For Life Baby Photo Contest. The photo will be displayed in a booth at our County Fair in August. The rules state that:
The picture must have been taken within the last year- August 2010 to July 2011
It can include babies up to 30 months of age by August 4, 2011.
Contest winners will receive a $25 savings bond. (Woot!) (I added that part.)
We’ve never entered but decided to try it this year. I’m having a hard time deciding which pictures to submit. Clara and Gerhardt qualify, Lily is too old.
Uncle Weslie’s Birthday

This morning the girls were singing Happy Birthday, cuz they like that song, and Lily suggested that Clara sing to Uncle Weslie too. Funny enough, today is actually Uncle Weslie’s birthday!
So from all of us, “Happy Birthday Uncle Weslie”!
