The Things They Say

Friday, April 1st, 2011

I love that Lily has gotten so good at talking; to us, to herself, to anyone who will listen, all the time…really, non-stop. The things we hear around our house can be pretty funny. I don’t always remember them, so I thought I’d better write a couple down before I forget those too!

“Crap Cara, Crap!” (Clap, Clara, Clap!)

“And one for the little boy who lives down the drain.” (And one for the little boy who lives down the lane.)

“Row row row your boat gently down the street, mary, mary, mary, mary row your boat down the street.”

2…And A Half

Sweet, smart, silly Lily FINALLY turned 2 1/2 years old in January. For some reason I feel this age needs a post. It feels like one of those milestone ages. I doubt I’ll write something up when she’s 3 1/2 or 12 1/2, though I remember how important 9 1/2 was. “and a half” is very important to the young. Anyway, I think because Lily is tall and pretty precocious, so many people assume she’s 3 and my typical response is “No, she’s not even 2 1/2 yet.”

“Gracias”, Lily says now. Of course I responded with “De Nada”. Ha ha! Thank you Dora the Explorer.

December Daily: Day Twenty

Tuesday, December 21st, 2010

We decided to go to the big city today to get Phil some new clothes and do some reading and Peppermint Mocha drinking. We ate lunch then hit some stores and grabbed a couple groceries. Then we got a call from our sitter that Lily was screaming when she was going potty and she suspected that Lily might have a bladder infection. We hurried home and the clinic being closed advised us to take her into the hospital because she might spike a fever in the night if we didn’t get some medicine for her soon.

Phil took her in but because he couldn’t get her to potty there there wasn’t much that could be done. They sent him home with a dosage of antibiotics to give her until we could get a urine sample they could test.
