What a week this was for Phil. Two funerals and a wedding, but no Hugh Grant. He’s been a very busy pastor.

They were only serving domestic beer at the wedding reception. I needed something stronger than punch. I don’t suppose I got that though. I confessed to Phil that I would like one of the “beers” they were serving and asked him if that was ok. The couple next to us let me know that it was, that no one would mind me, the pastor’s wife, having a beer. I laughed and had to explain that it wasn’t all of them I was worried about, but my beer snob husband. I told Phil to choose one for me, something I could drink and still sit next to him. He brought back the least offensive one. And yes, it did taste like water.

The happy couple.

The other “happy” couple.

Lily and I went to our first Bancroft-Rosalie Homecoming Pep Rally Wednesday night. Not at all like any pep rallies I had in school. It was an evening of games and competitions between the classes. The Senior football players were given a few minutes to say something, but there wasn’t much “pepping” or “rallying” going on. I was confused, but enjoyed the night anyway, until it got a little R-O-W-D-Y and Lily got mad.

Here’s the Senior class.

The seniors, in black, won this one catching a total of 19 water balloons in their pants, the juniors, in purple, only caught 14.
