"My beloved is unto me as a bundle of myrrh." Song of Solomon 1:13

We made a quick stop at my family’s house in Austin to drop off 5 of the babies then loaded the big 3 into the van and headed for the Texas Coast. This would be their first time to see the ocean (well, Gulf if you want to be exact.) They couldn’t wait. It was a grueling 3 hour drive for them!
Next stop Surfside Beach!

Phil and I spent Thursday and Friday in Lincoln. A nice break from the dailyness, another “babymoon” for us I guess. We were gifted with an amazing rate on 3 nights in a posh down town hotel and pretended to be young and carefree. We took in a free concert, saw a movie, ate out, slept in, spent an evening with friends and yes, missed our babies.
We’ve been very blessed with parents who are able and willing to come up and care for our kiddos while we get away like this. And I’ve been very blessed with a husband who makes sure these getaways happen!

If you grew up in Austin you would most likely have spent some time at Zilker Park. I remember coming here in elementary school for picnics during school field trips. I came here in college to play ultimate football, lay in the grass to try to read T.S. Elliot and swim in the cold natural spring pool. Now I came with my own babies.
And surreal was the word that came to mind.
