Update time. We’re thankful to report that Rose is doing wonderfully, really everything is going as well as it can be. She is resting soundly and eating…from a bottle which is a huge deal! As of now there should be no reason for an NG tube if she continues to do well with that. Also her IV could come out today or tomorrow. She has not needed oxygen today since she is breathing so well on her own. Aubri was able to hold her for about an hour today much sooner than expected.
Another ultrasound was done on her head this afternoon to measure the ventricles in her brain. This is something that has to be monitored now that her back is closed and spinal fluid has nowhere to go. We do not have the results from that yet but hope to know a little more later today once her neurosurgeon sees them and we meet with her. It could be a few more days before there’s a plan on how to redirect the fluid if need be.

Rose is back in the NICU for recovery after surgery to close her back. She is strong, vigorous, and breathing well on her own. They said the surgery went really well and that she is ready to start feeding. We are thankful Christ is taking care of all of us.
