34 Weeks

Thursday, September 16th, 2021

September 3: 34 weeks. This marks the week I would have had to return to Houston for the duration of the pregnancy if the fetal surgery for baby girl had been approved. All that worry seems ages ago now. And though being told “No” for the surgery was a bitter pill to swallow at the time I am thankful to be home with my family and resting in God’s wisdom.

At today’s appointment with the specialist baby weighed 5lbs 9oz! Up 2 pounds since last month. It was a relief to hear she’s growing. And she’s back to head down again, hooray! Wiggly thing.

So all is well for another week. We are so blessed.

30 Weeks

August 5: 30 weeks. Could you consider the last 10 weeks the final stretch? Especially if you’re not likely to get to 40 weeks? The answer is yes. It’s been a while since I was pregnant all Summer and I have to say I no likey. But besides sweating all.the.time, experiencing the familiar aches and pains and having nothing left in the tank from morning to bedtime, I’m feeling…pretty okayish.

Baby girl moves often which is always a comfort. She’s up to almost 3 pounds and I was surprised to hear she was head down at this week’s ultrasound. Until now she’s been transverse every time and I was wondering if she had the ability to move to that degree, so that news was encouraging. At least I know she can get there!

I’m getting very eager to meet her though I admit the desire to just keep her safe where she is forever has been in my mind for months.

As always, thank you all for your continued thoughts and prayers. We are surrounded by such love and support. God is good.

28 Weeks

28 weeks. Welcome to the jungle, I mean the 3rd Trimester. Martha said she’s “popping a baby out” like me. Misery does love company, thanks Martha! 😄

I finally feel like I have a better picture of what we need to have ready for our baby’s birth and what can wait and finally we have an idea of the plan we need to put together for the week she’ll arrive. If she stays put, it looks like we’ll actually plan to let her get closer to her due date than I originally expected which puts us into October. All that feels really good. Now we wrap up the Summer activities, the travel and visitors and prep for school to begin in a few weeks. Then I can turn my attention to nursery prep and all the fun stuff that comes with getting ready for a baby. It helps immensely that I’m already exhausted and am sure I’m walking through quicksand all day long. 👍

27 Weeks

Baby is 27 weeks now. Look at that little face!

For the next 12 weeks we are just tracking her growth, which appears to be appropriate for her age at this point. We also are keeping track of the fluid accumulation on her brain (hydrocephalus.) As of last week it looks to be about the same as it was at 23 weeks which is good to hear. Other good news is I don’t have to worry about Gestational Diabetes having passed that test, I’m glad to scratch that concern off my list at least.

Thank you all again for your ongoing prayers.
