Keeping It Real

There are days when I look around and tell Phil,

“Our life is ridiculous.”

The house has been mess bombed. The kids are in the back yard, which has also been mess bombed – one is naked the others are screaming at each other. The baby is in the play house banging her head on the wall.

You just can’t seem to get anything done.

And then the back door falls off.

Its just so ridiculous you have to take pictures.

Laugh or cry. Or both in my case.

I laugh until I cry every time. It’s just my nature. Sometimes it seems really inappropriate, and not everybody understands it. I have one son that deals with stress that way, too.

Trust me, laugh. It feels better and you don’t feel as sorry for yourself.

    Hang in there!

  2. Laugh, my dear.

And in 20 years you’ll remember the mess and laugh some more!

🙂 We gotta swap more pictures. Other peoples’ messes always make me feel better

Just make sure not to laugh at other people’s messes too hard. . . I laughed so hard I cried when my friend told me her kids had smuggled table scraps (compost material) up to their bedroom to eat and left it there. Within the hour I found my son drinking water out of the toilet.

This is what my house has looked for the last week – glad I’m not alone.

You know, if you say something like, “THIS is the clean clothes couch/chair/bed,” then it might make it seem like the clean clothes are in the right place instead of sitting and waiting to be folded for days on end. At least in your head. It works for me, kind of. Just so long as those clean clothes stay on that one particular couch.

  7. Kristi says:

So your house has been mess-bombed. And your yard, too. Own it, girl!!!

    Smooches!

  8. Aubri says:

Katy and Molly, I have an entire library of “Mess Bomb Photos.” Y’all can check one out anytime to boost your confidence! 🙂

Jody, you crack me up. Toilet water on the regular here, as long as nothing’s floating in it, we’re aces. And I totally have a “THIS is the clean clothes couch/chair/bed,” too!

Kristi and Lea, owning it all day and looking forward to the day I can laugh some more about it all.
